Some Pregnancy Myths Fact From Fiction
News flash: The stork did not bring you or any other baby. But if you think that’s the only myth associated with pregnancy, you’ll be surprised to read this article. In fact, there are a lot of myths that are believed by a lot more people than the stork story.
1) For instance, many people think that a woman cannot get pregnant if the penetration of the man’s penis lasts only a few seconds. However, there is the potential for potential any time the penis directly contacts a woman’s vaginal area. Granted, it’s not as high a chance as if intercourse and ejaculation took place, but the chance is there. You should also note that there is also the possibility of a sexually transmitted disease being transmitted in this way.
2) A lot of people think that dry sex (sex with no penetration, but with skin/skin contact around the genital area) cannot bring pregnancy. But repeating what we just said, if the penis and vaginal area contact one another, there is at least a slight chance of pregnancy.
3) Some people no pregnancy is possible from a man’s pre-ejaculation (the liquid seeping from the man’s penis prior to ejaculation). However, this substance has sperm in it, and because of that, it does bring the potential for pregnancy. For this reason, you should understand that early withdrawal of the penis is not a completely effective form of birth control.
4) It’s commonly thought by many that there can be no pregnancy of the woman has no orgasm. This, too, is a myth. A woman’s orgasm has no relationship to the availability of an egg for fertilization.
5) It’s another myth that sperm is not able to travel through fabric such as clothing. It is true that pregnancy is not likely, but there is still the very small chance of pregnancy; this, however, comes closer than the preceding four myths to having some truth to it. A person’s clothes would need to be soaked with semen for pregnancy to have even a small chance of occurring.
6) Some people think that a woman can’t get pregnant if she and her partner have sex in water. However, if there is actual intercourse while in the water, pregnancy can occur. Outside water does not interfere with sperm being deposited in the woman’s vaginal area.
7) What about anal sex? Can it lead to pregnancy? While the actual act of anal sex cannot cause pregnancy, remember that the vaginal area and anus are quite near each other. Therefore, this introduces the possibility that sperm could accidentally leak into the woman’s vagina and bring about pregnancy.
8 ) And finally, some have spread the idea that if a man ejaculates several times, this lowers the chance of a pregnancy. However, it’s been poven that the number of imes a man ejaculates doesn’t impact the chances of a woman’s pregnancy. Remember: Only one sperm (out of 300 million in each ejaculation0 is necessary for fertilization of an egg.
